“On November 17th, me and ten other team mates took part in a twelve mile Tough Mudder obstacle course, raising money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. The event was a challenge rather than a race in cold, wet and extremely muddy conditions, which some of us found a little bit difficult at first.”
“The obstacles included “Everest” a very slippery 1 in 4 gradient pipe which you had to run up. Also, “Electroshock Therapy” where 10,000 volts of electricity ran through cables that hung from a frame which you had to make your way through. Then the exhilarating “Arctic Enema” which was a fifteen foot skip filled with ice that you had to jump into, submerge yourself completely, pass under a beam and climb out the other side! It was great fun doing something so different from our everyday activities, and a day we will remember. I will be hopefully be taking part in lots more crazy events of this kind in 2013.”
