Would you buy a water jet cutter from Ali Express we ask in the title here. And the only sensible answer might be “no. Of course not”.
However, you can.
Randomly googling water jet cutting one day, we hit the shopping tab and saw a listing on Ali Express. A water jet cutting machine for around £1,500 – although tax had to be added. Import tax we think, not stupidity tax for ordering a water jet cutter off Ali Express. If we were to order – and we were not remotely tempted – we would then have to wait many months for it to arrive.
The water jet machine has no reviews, and questions have gone unanswered. It has some images, including parts cut, though they don’t look overly complex, you cannot see the quality of the cit (due to a lack of resolution in the image) and can we be 1005 sure the machine even made these cuts?
On some level we can see why it might make a tempting purchase. For those who think having their own water jet cutting machine might be useful, £1,500 is a crazily low price. The Wazer machines cost many times this – not least because they are good machines.
For £1,500 you get a machine tat may work, it may not. Good luck sending it back if you find it’s not so great – can you drop a water jet cutter off at the local Thorntons for return delivery? ow much bubble wrap would you need? probably at least £1,500 worth.
If you have £1,500 spare and a desire for a water jet cutter in your garage you are probably just as well advised to buy a jet washer from Karcher. it won’t cut anything, but at least you can get the drive clean. Or just use the £1,500 to pay for a holiday, or start a new hobby.
We’ll leave £1,500 water jet cutters on ALi Express well alone. We suspect you should too.
